Developing the Ecosystem for Financing Transformation with the SDGs: A Foundation and Science View

Transformation requires substantial investment in the change process: experimenting and identifying transformative solutions, creating capacity, and sustaining the actual change effort over the many years the process requires. A webinar will focus on the these issues and the role of science research funding and foundations, within the concept of an “ecosystem for financing transformation.”

1)    Benjamin Bellegy, Executive Director – Worldwide Initiatives for Grantmaker Support (WINGS): WINGS focuses on developing private resources for public good. With extensive experience in philanthropy and international cooperation, Benjamin sees new opportunities to develop resources.

2)    Marcos Neto, Director, Istanbul International Center for Private Sector in Development – UNDP: Marco has taken a lead in the UNDP in developing new approaches to financing for the SDGs, including developing the SDG Philanthropic Forum.

3)    Erica Key – Executive Director. The Belmont Forum: The Forum is a group of the world’s major and emerging funders of global environmental change research. Erica joined the forum in 2015 from the US National Science Foundation.
